Marilyn Smith Ebling, we will miss you dearly!

MARILYN SMITH-EBLING passed away on July 20, 2008 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 11, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Verna Finch. She is survived by her husband, Dick Ebling, her two sons, James and Jeremy Smith, a brother, Ross Finch, and sister, Gweyn Thompson. The best word to describe Marilyn is that she was a "giver." She had no list of things she wanted to do before she died. She was totally content with her passion of helping young children mature into strong Christian adults. Marilyn spent over 15 years as Director of the Extended Day Program at St. Francis De Sales Catholic School, and was currently an active elder at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, where she served in the area of Children's Ministry. With all these duties, she still had time to be a wonderful wife and mother. We all have learned much about the gift of generosity from Marilyn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.

In the testimonial at her funeral we heard the three words that most exemplified Marilyn: generous, humble, and awesome. That is truly the Marilyn we knew and loved. The imprint of her love lives on in the lives of so many - young and old alike. Marilyn, you've left EDP with a strong foundation and we continue - in your honor and memory! We love you!
